This week I have been taking part in the Just a Card Indie Week and Xmas Fair. If you’ve never heard of Just A Card – it’s a fantastic campaign that encourages people to support, value, and buy from artists, makers, independent shops, and small businesses. You can find out more about it here.
They run an indie week campaign over on Instagram which helps small businesses to be discovered and promotes them by spreading the word about shopping small. There are a range of prompts to get involved, such as introducing yourself, sharing events you’ve got coming up, and making your own image that represents Just a Card. I decided to create a small animated film using collage papers which you can see below. I have used the Just a Card logo as the starting point to help spread the word about the campaign. If you are on Instagram you can go give them a follow or just head to their website to find out more.
As well as the Instagram promotion – there is also a Just a Card Christmas Fair – they have created a dedicated website page to show all the makers who are taking part – including me – which you can find here.
So if you want to discover some new makers, artists and designers then I would definitely recommend starting on the Just A Card Christmas Fair Page, there are so many talented people you could shop with.
There are lots of different ways to get involved with the Just a Card campaign whether you are a small business owner or not. There are pin badges you can buy and wear – they have had a few famous people get involved too, all getting behind the message of getting people to support businesses like mine. . You can share their free images and just encourage others to get involved too.
